The Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay showcases 14 exhibits that contain more than 1,000 species of endangered and exotic fish, reptiles and sharks. Established with the goal to entertain while helping conserve some of the world's most exotic species, Shark Reef is the perfect place for the whole family to enjoy up-close views of more than 90 sharks. The main tank accommodates more than 15 shark species and it is one of the largest water tanks in the US. There are two underwater tunnels that provide visitors with a complete 360 view of the habitat. Designed and built to look like a sunken boat, the aquarium houses some of the largest species and allows visitors the opportunity to view many amazing craturs including nurse charks and the tiger shark that spans over 9 feet long. Other exhibitions that feature crocodile and freshwater fish, can be found scattered throughout the location.
Other attractions include the Polar Journey that allows visitors to learn more about the Earth's polar region and the wildlife through films, interactive panels and more. Learn about shark diet and if you are brave enough get a hands-on experience feeding some zebra sharks. Other activities include sea turtle feeding, shark diving and a touch pool that allows guests to touch a variety of sharks, rays and more.
